Update

Our DNA results arrived at the American embassy in Guatemala yesterday afternoon, so now the "pink slip" is the next step. It's issued by the embassy, and will tell us the date of our appointment, so we'll be able to make travel arrangements at last. Well, our pink slip didn't come today. Like a doof, I still keep checking my e-mail, as if I think there is some dedicated embassy employee working late tonight - ha! Maybe tomorrow. . .
