FFF - Black and White

Today's Favorite Foto Friday theme is Black and White, and since I don't really have any black and white photos, I'm doing a twist on the theme, and posting a picture of my favorite little Black and White girl! She has no idea how much her mom loves her.

FFF - Friends With Stuffing

The Favorite Foto Friday theme for today is "Friends With Stuffing". Neither of our girls are attached to one favorite stuffed animal, though we certainly seem to have a house full of them. Claire and Mia are favorite-blankie girls. Claire does love Webkinz, but really doesn't play with them - just gets them all out and counts them occasionally. Here's a picture of her on Christmas morning last year, showcasing her collection --- I think it's about doubled since then!

We have lots of poly fleece blankets around - they are so soft, bright and cute, I just love them. I find myself scanning the bolts every time I go to the fabric store. Mia has attached to - what else?- the Dora one.

FFF - Back to School!

My babies started school on Monday. Claire is now in 3rd grade, and was excited about going back and seeing her friends again every day. She's in a new room with a new teacher this year, and was a little nervous about that, but she really likes her, and is enjoying it so far.

Mia Ruth is in Pre-K. Let me tell you, it's tough to find uniforms in 3-T! Although she's a bit hesitant in the mornings, I think she really enjoys it. They even take naps, and although it makes it hard for her to go to sleep at night, she's also much more pleasant in the evenings. The teacher says she's starting to chatter - in English!

Getting these two usually early-riser girls up, ready and out the door by 7:30 is going to be a real challenge, especially once Larry's school starts back and he won't be here to help me. For some reason they pop out of bed on weekends, holidays and summer days, but on school days we can hardly pry them out with a crowbar. It's time to step back into my drill sergeant mode!

GuateFamily Reunion

We spent last weekend at the home of Mia's bio. sister, Emmalisa, and their bio. brother David came down from his new home to visit, too. We had a really nice visit, and on Saturday we got together with two other Guatefamilies at a beautiful park nearby. Good weather, good food and lots of fun stuff to play on. Here are a few pictures from the day. The kids definitely slept well that night!

This was 11 of the 13 kids.

Sara was at the hogar with Mia, David and Emmalisa, and it was so nice to see her again (and her cool, jewel-studded braces - I love those!)

We've known these families for over a year through e-mail, and it was wonderful to meet them in person and get to spend time with them and their beautiful children.

A beautiful day for a hike

Today was a beautiful day, and we decided to take the girls up on the Parkway and hike a little. They really enjoyed it. Even the drive was fun, because we drove through several tunnels.

There were lots of these butterflies everywhere.

The girls ran so far ahead of me that most of my pictures are from behind . . .

. . . way behind.

Overall a really fun time, and they enjoyed the tunnels just as much on the way back!

FFF - Crazy Hair

The theme for this Favorite Foto Friday is "Crazy Hair". I was able to scrape up a few from my collection.

When Claire was small she had many many bad hair days, so it was hard for me to decide which photo to post - but here's a silly one from lately, getting ready for an 80's party.

With Mia it's the opposite - never really a bad hair day, so this is the only silly hair photo I have so far.

I am pretty hesitant to post this one - on rainy weekends Claire has always liked to do my hair and/or makeup. Here's one of the hair (I have a lovely one of the makeup that I'll save for another day).

I saved the best for last. We have a computer program that lets us put in pictures of ourselves to try different hairstyles.
