Helping

Here are a few pictures of Mia helping me make cupcakes last weekend. These were Key Lime cupcakes, and they were a real chore. It took forever to zest a bunch of Key limes. They are so small and hard - you hardly get any zest from them. Then I squeezed them, because the recipe called for juice, too. When they were all done, I was so disappointed, because to me they tasted just like lemon. Next time I'll just buy a lemon cake mix!

Playing 21

 Here are some pictures of the girls taken during a rare getting-along moment. They were playing 21. Let's see - you take turns counting, and I think you can say one to three numbers at a time. The one who gets to 21 first wins.

Yeeouch!

Wow - I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted. I've been so busy at work that I'm exhausted when I get home. I have hardly had my camera out.

Anyway, the latest news is that Claire got braces last Tuesday afternoon. She's not too happy with them, but I think she looks cute. The orthodontist thinks they will probably be on for 18 months. Meanwhile, I've had mine on my bottom teeth for over a year, and will be getting them off on Monday. I can't wait!! The insides of my mouth are so tired of being scraped all of the time. And flossing with braces is terrible! When they change the wire, they let me go brush and floss, and it is so easy to floss now that my teeth are not overlapping anymore. I may just become a daily flosser!

Mia's curls

Why is it that we always want something different than what we have? I have wavy hair, and long for either straight or curly. Claire has curly hair and longs for straight or wavy. Mia has straight and longs for curls. Here she was after a night in sponge rollers.
