Welcome Sweet Springtime!

I can't pass a first day of Spring without thinking of this song on one of my favorite episodes of the Andy Griffith Show. I tried to make just a clip of the song, but it didn't work too well. Then I found this. It gives just a little background of what's going on...

FFF - Twirling

I've started picking up a few summer clothes for the girls, and I'm so happy with the colors and styles for girls this season! Even in Claire's sizes they have some cute stuff - so refreshing after many seasons of the "Nell Carter" look. Here are some pictures of Mia trying on one of her new dresses. She loves the twirly skirt!

Come Spring, Come!

We've had a few really warm days, and (even though I've been sick) it has been so nice! I've forced the girls to go outside and play a few times. I don't know what's up with that - we used to play outside ALL the time - these kids act like it's a punishment! Then a few minutes later they're having a great time. Here are some pictures of them outside last weekend.

I wish the ponytail holder was on the hair instead of the wrist...

Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 40's - yuck!

Bowling

I've been trying a sticker chart with the girls, and when they get their charts full, they get to pick an activity out of the bag. Last week they drew bowling, so we went after school on Tuesday. It was Mia's first time bowling, and she had a great time.

Claire's a pretty good little bowler --- of course the gutter guards help! (Wish I could have had them...)

I helped Mia the first couple of times, and then she wanted to do it herself. For some reason she had the goofiest bowling "style" I've ever seen. She kind of crouched over and would swing the ball back and forth, back and forth, several times, and then would stop, set it down and push it. It would creep slowly down the lane, bouncing off the gutter guards, and a lot of times it would end up going right to the center pin! Of course, it wouldn't have enough momentum to knock them all down, but she didn't do too bad.
